Queen Bey is back and better than ever, as she made a sensational return to the stage with an exclusive concert in Dubai. On January 21st, Beyoncé performed at the opening of the new luxury hotel, Atlantis The Royal, in an hour-long concert that began with Etta James’s “At Last.”
The concert was a true spectacle, with bright fireworks erupting above the massive venue and from the water as lights illuminated the stage, revealing an Egyptian-themed backdrop. Beyoncé, dressed in a yellow and sheer bustier top with a feathered skirt and matching backpiece, rose from a platform in front of a giant half sun model. The 41-year-old was joined by none other than her daughter, Blue Ivy, who collaborated with her mother on “Brown Skin Girl” and danced in a red sequined jumpsuit alongside the 28-time Grammy award winner.
Beyoncé’s performance was primarily ballad-focused, featuring hits like “Freedom,” “Spirit” and “Be Alive.” However, she also included favorites like “Beautiful Liar” and “Naughty Girl.” Despite rumors of a new album, she didn’t sing any songs from “Renaissance”.
The concert was a star-studded affair, with celebrities such as Kendall Jenner, Rebel Wilson, Chloe and Halle Bailey and Nia Long in attendance. According to reports, attendees received an all-expenses-paid luxury weekend in the United Arab Emirates from January 20th-22nd.
However, the concert was a private event and phones were banned from the concert. No one was allowed to take photos or videos of the performance. But, at the after-party, attendees were allowed their phones back and treated with complimentary Moët champagne and a performance from Swedish House Mafia.
It’s been a while since Beyoncé last performed live, her last performance was in February 2020, when she sang at Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s celebrate of life. Though not live, she aired a pre-taped video of her song “Be Alive” for the movie “King Richard” at the 2022 Oscars. Despite her summer 2022 album release, Beyoncé has yet to announce a corresponding tour, her fans are eagerly waiting for her to announce her next move, and tour schedule.
Overall, Beyoncé’s return to the stage was a true spectacle, and her fans were thrilled to see the Queen back in action. With rumors of a new album and tour, we can’t wait to see what’s next for Beyoncé.
